[Invitation] Yale US-China Forum, See You There

· 3 min read

Becoming an Advisor to the Yale US-China Forum

What an honour! The day before yesterday I received a notice — I've been invited to join the Advisory Board of the "Yale US-China Forum".

Yale University · US-China Forum

The Yale US-China Forum (YUCF), founded in 2011, is one of the most influential student-run forums in North America.

For more than a decade, the forum has been held at Yale University, connecting scholars, entrepreneurs, investors and young leaders from China, the US and around the world. Over these years, more than 200 prominent figures from academia and industry in China, the US and beyond have spoken there, including Yale's president, Nobel laureates, diplomats, business leaders, policymakers and academic leaders.

The forum offers the younger generation a truly unique space:

in an open, rational environment,

to discuss the most important questions facing China, the US and the global landscape.

2026 Theme: Gathering Momentum, Sustaining Renewal

The theme, Gathering Momentum, Sustaining Renewal, borrows the idea of "生生不息" (endless renewal of life) from the I Ching.

In an era of accelerating change and deep uncertainty, the forum hopes to explore:

How can societies and institutions keep renewing themselves?

How are responsibility and mission handed on from one generation to the next?

How do today's decisions shape the world the next generation will inherit?

In an academic setting like Yale, with its tradition of long-term thinking, these conversations feel especially meaningful.

When people from different backgrounds come together, the conversations tend to get really interesting.

The real value of a platform

In today's world, US-China relations, global technology, capital flows and social structures are all changing fast. Many questions have no simple answers — and the more that is true, the more we need platforms for sustained dialogue.

What the Yale US–China Forum has meant over the past fifteen years is exactly this: letting people from different backgrounds discuss long-term questions seriously, in a rational environment.

That's also why I'm happy to be part of it.

If you're interested in taking part,

please get in touch with me.
